Why so often are our visions of the future rooted in militaristic violence? Do we really have no brighter aspirations for future generations? As we grow up in the shadow of conflict, how may we better envision a more utopian possibility? Sci-fi writers often play with tropes of battle as a lens through which to explore the human condition. We instead hope to outfind a mode of thinking to explore past the need for fighting, outfitting a future generation for a happier time to come.
