Jinsei Tsuji produced, wrote, scored, and directed Sennen Tabito while living in New York City, attempting to capture and express their sense of loneliness, anxieties, and hopes. This photo, featuring the performer known as yuma, sitting low and alone, on an empty cobblestone path cast in cold blue light, captures some of these complex feelings. Through both the score and imagery, the film weaves together the combined artforms to express their intent.
