Cassidy Carol, an American textile artist, relocated to Laos in 1989. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to preserve and revive traditional Laotian silk weaving techniques, helping to create a commercial weaving practice in Vientiane. On custom built looms, women weavers work to weave highly intricate patterns, often taking months to complete a single piece.
