Mika Ninagawa's photobook “Everlasting Flowers” captures the photographer’s first encounter with artificial flowers. Showcasing Ninagawa's unique approach to photography, the series combines vivid, hyper-saturated colors with a deep exploration of themes including life, death, and the ephemeral nature of beauty. These perennial flowers, offered to the dead at gravesites and altars, present a blurring silhouette that evokes a conviction of having ventured into the other side, accompanied by a dizzying sensation.
